Assistant Accountant
Organisation: Communication Regulated Non-WDT SACCO Society Ltd.
Job Grade: CSSG5/01/2025
Department: Finance
Reports to: Accountant
Location: Communication Authority of Kenya Headquarters, Waiyaki Way, Nairobi
Job Purpose
The Assistant Accountant will provide accounting, financial management, and reporting support to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in the SACCO’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with SACCO policies, IFRS, and applicable regulations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management accounts, and statutory returns.
Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger updates.
Support budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
Ensure timely payment of statutory obligations (taxes, pensions, deductions, etc.).
Assist in treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and investment tracking.
Support both internal and external audits through preparation of reconciliations, schedules, and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a SACCO, bank, microfinance, or other regulated financial institution.
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field from a recognized institution.
CPA Part II qualification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management systems (Navision, Dynamics 365).
Successful candidates will be expected to submit documentation and demonstrate compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Sound knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Advanced ICT and financial systems proficiency.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
